I recently learned about a Twitter poetry series taking place in NYC called Cool Date and was amazed to discover that the weird and expressive online world that I frequent is extending offline and taking some kind of embodied form. As a student of New Media, I wanted to find out a little more about the series so I contacted the curator, Heather Rasley, for a short interview.

A New Media major from Montreal sent us some questions about Cool Date, and Heather responded on her lunch break. Check it out here.

The whole reading was loose and fun, but there was also a renegade aura to it. Each of these writers probably have a larger audience than most writers I know, yet none of them, as far I know, has ever attended an MFA program and no one hawked their new novel.

Roshan Abraham wrote a nice, comprehensive review of the first Cool Date, complete with photos.
